Tibidabo: More than an amusement park
Have you ever heard of Tibidabo? It is located in Barcelona and it is not just an amusement park because it also offers a breathtaking view.
The hill of Tibidabo with its 512 meters above sea level. It is the ideal place to spend a nice afternoon in company. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of Barcelona, perhaps as unique and certainly as the Bunkers del Carmel.
What fascinates most about Tibidado are the Temple of Atonement of the Sacred Heart and the fabulous Amusement Park. Which among other things is the oldest in Spain, the second in Europe.
Amusement park of the tibidado
The park is divided into two parts. An ideal for children and families, where you will find all the more classic attractions. Another called “Camí del Cel” (Sky Walk in English) for those who want to admire the view.
The park attractions is the place that all children love. Made of a perfect mix of games, entertainment and adrenaline. Children here can play in mysterious castles, bumper cars, rides like the “ass kicks” (here they call it “Devil”), roller coasters and trampolines. Some attractions however require a minimum height to climb, such as the “Devil” (110cm). While the roller coaster requiring a height of 130cm.
CAMÍ DEL CEL (Sky Walk): It consists of 3 main attractions. There is the Telaia, the Girabado, ie the Ferris wheel, and finally the Aviò, which would be an airplane attacked by a metal arm that makes it turn.
For those who do not want to visit the Amusement Park of Tibidabo you can come just to take some nice pictures and relax admiring the landscape.
Visit to the expiatory temple of the sacred heart
There is the possibility to walk in the Park, without getting on the attractions. In addition, there is also a bar with tables and a Xurreria. You can also visit the beautiful Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a basilica that stands out in heaven giving you another magnificent view of the city.
The Temple of the Sacred Heart was built in the early 900 precisely in conjunction with the Park, at the highest point of the hill. The visit to the Temple is free. While if you want to climb into the dome at the top to greet Jesus you will have to take the elevator that costs 5.00€.
