Sitges – a coastal gem near Barcelona

Barcelona to Sitges, a beautiful small town, that is a perfect place for relaxing and taking some time off! It’s only a short drive away from Barcelona, making it an amazing destination for everyone looking for an escape from busy city life.

The stunning coastal town is well known for its beaches, but it has way more to offer. While you wander around picturesque streets, you’ll find a lot of quality restaurants offering local cuisine. Also on every street you’ll find many cool shops full of local snacks and delicious treats.

Barcelona Airport to Sitges

Sitges is easily accessible from Barcelona Airport El Prat, with various transportation options. If you prefer a direct journey, consider taking a taxi, which typically takes around 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Taxi ride is the fastest and the most comfortable option, but also the most expensive one. Be ready to pay over 50 €, prices may vary depending on the different companies. 

If you decide to go with the taxi option, we recommend Cabify, it is the best Uber alternative in Spain. Usually, it will take around 22 minutes to arrive from Barcelona airport to Sitges by taxi.

Barcelona to Sitges

Traveling by bus is a good alternative, if you are looking for more budget friendly options and want to enjoy the view while travelling.

Unfortunately there is no direct way to get from Barcelona airport to Sitges by bus. You have to take at least two different buses to reach your destination. That way it will take around 1 h and 12 minutes, it depends what kind of buses you’re taking. 

For the fastest route we recommend taking Aerobus from Barcelona Airport to the Plaza Espanya. For that you have to find a bus stop Terminal 2 AB, it’s just in front of the airport. The tickets cost between 6 and 7 euros and you can buy it on the bus by card or with cash. Also, there are ticket machines next to the bus stop. 

After arriving at the Plaza Espanya, you have to take another bus, for that look for the bus stop called Barcelona – Gran via 2. It is only a 4 minute walk away and tickets cost between 3-6 euros. The journey should last 40 minutes and you have to take off at the stop called Sitges – Parc Can Robert. 

Always check bus service times and tickets in advance.

Train from Barcelona to Sitges

Another alternative is taking a train from the Prat de Llobregat airport in Barcelona. For that you have to find Aeroport T2 train station. You have to take connecting trains.

For those traveling from Barcelona’s city center, the train service from Passeig de Gracia and Barcelona Sants stations to Sitges provides a convenient and efficient option.

Renfe trains from Barcelona to Sitges run frequently throughout the day, allowing for a smooth and hassle-free journey and be flexible with your travel.
